I needed a light that would keep my Norfolk Island pine tree alive during the PNW winter season. My tree is about four feet away from a frosted west facing window, which doesn’t get enough like during the off season. I love this light, it’s a million times better than those arm led lights that are all over ecogrowhawaii.com or the stands that only give light on the top of the plant. This one actually works! My tree is very happy under it and it’s so bright. The brightest light I have so far. Only downside is there is no timer. The light was easy to get set up out of the box. I am so pleased with this, it’s just like the professional grow light tubes that hang from the ceiling, except it’s able to be aimed at the the whole height of the plant, perfect for trees, and I bought a separate timer for the light to go off for 12 hrs a day. Very reasonable price for such a useful grow light. The back of the light does get warm to the touch, but not hot enough to hurt your hand or burn anything. The front of the light is not hot or warm to the touch whatsoever.
